Add to calendarOn June 14, Kyiv will mark World Blood Donor Day with a special event uniting donors, their friends, families, and everyone who believes in the power of mutual support.
The event will take place at the VDNG complex, in the "Polyana ta Sady Hamakiv" space, featuring a charity evening dedicated to those who save lives daily through their donations. It will be a day of gratitude for donors, a day of warm reunions, and a day of good deeds.
This year, the event has an additional vital goal. Proceeds raised from the event will go toward supporting the family of Ukrainian military personnel raising a boy with Duchenne muscular dystrophy—a rare genetic condition requiring extremely expensive treatment and long-term rehabilitation.
Guests are invited to join the traditional "Donor Mile" charity run—a symbolic distance of approximately 1.6 km that will be covered together by donors, event partners, and concerned citizens of Kyiv. Both experienced runners and those who simply want to spend the day among like-minded people are welcome to participate.
