If you've been wanting to learn how to make cool slam dunks, now is the time to sign up for a basketball school. In this selection, we have gathered basketball clubs for adults and sections for children. Perhaps your child will become an NBA star.
Push Team is an All-Ukrainian basketball club with three locations in Kyiv:
MAUP Sports Complex (Demiivska metro station, Fromentivska St. 20)
Solomianka Sports Complex (Henerala Vorobyova St. 13V)
KNTEU Sports Complex (Lisova metro station, Kioto St. 19)
We recruit girls and boys aged 5 and older. There are always 2-3 coaches at practices, allowing for an individual approach to each child and group division by skill level.
After just two months of training, participants take part in our own club tournament, Push Championship. All facilities are equipped with shelters: if an alarm is announced, children move there with their coaches and continue their activities – physical exercises, dribbling, and safety rules. The club's top athletes compete in the All-Ukrainian Youth Basketball League (VUBL) and also have a chance to join Ukraine's national teams. Several teams play in the European Youth Basketball League (EYBL) with the possibility of sports scholarships abroad.
BASKETBALL DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY — a basketball academy for children. Enrollment starts from 7 years old. The academy's coach is Oleksandr Lokhmanychuk, who holds a license from FIBA and the Ukrainian Basketball Federation, and has worked with the national team and well-known clubs such as Kyiv-Basket, BC "Hoverla," and BC "Budivelnyk." Each group consists of 20 players of the same age. Training takes place at the Sports Palace and at school No. 130 named after Dante Alighieri.
At the "Champion" Youth Sports School, training is available for children in basketball, football, and gymnastics. Both boys and girls can join basketball groups. The school's pupils participate in city and nationwide tournaments. Students have the opportunity to play for a professional basketball club in the future.
Here you will find amateur basketball courts with professional training flooring. You can rent a court for the required number of hours or sign up for basketball classes. Training is conducted in age-specific groups. There are classes for both children and adults. Children are taught from the age of 3.
At the school, you will gain all the necessary skills for playing basketball. Each player undergoes a course where they will learn how to control the ball, make an attack and finish it, and work with the equipment. The course program also includes exercises for speed and muscle strengthening, which are needed during a basketball game. The focus of the classes is not on the team but on the skills of each individual player. Training takes place in groups or individually.
"Kyiv-Basket" — one of the top Ukrainian basketball clubs, multiple winner of the Higher and Super Leagues. The club hosts a children's basketball academy, accepting children from 5 years old. The Kyiv-Basket Academy opens basketball sections in general education schools. For younger students, master classes are held by the best players of "Kyiv-Basket." The sections from the academy operate in secondary schools in the Svyatoshynskyi and Solomyanskyi districts.
At the "Avangard" Youth Sports School, there is a basketball section for boys and girls aged 12 to 18. Classes are held at the club or in general education schools in various districts. "Avangard" is not only a school but also an adult basketball club. In the 2013/2014 season, "Avangard" became the silver medalist of the Ukrainian championship in the higher league. The club represents both men's and women's teams.
The "Playmaker" basketball school accepts children from 7 to 15 years old. The school regularly hosts tournaments, social events, and promotes sports and a healthy lifestyle. Classes are held in two schools in Kyiv: Secondary School No. 109 and Secondary School No. 90.
BC "SLEM" — a youth basketball team that has repeatedly become a prize-winner of the Kyiv championship, winners of the Oleksandriya Cup, and participants in nationwide tournaments. The BC "SLEM" also has a basketball section. Children aged 9 to 14 are accepted into the beginner preparation group, and children aged 15 to 16 into the training group. There is also a sports group for athletes aged 17 to 18, with an entry selection process. Classes take place at general education schools in Kyiv.
BC "Bears" — a club where the president is the famous Ukrainian basketball player, two-time NBA champion Stanislav Medvedenko. The Stanislav Medvedenko Basketball School operates at the club. The school constantly accepts children aged 12 to 15. Classes are held at Secondary School No. 128 (Left Bank).
