If you've been wanting to learn how to make cool slam dunks, now is the time to sign up for a basketball school. In this selection, we have gathered basketball clubs for adults and sections for children. Perhaps your child will become an NBA star.
Push Team — is a nationwide basketball club with three locations in Kyiv:
Enrollment for girls and boys from 5 years old. There are always 2–3 coaches at training sessions, which allows for an individual approach to each child and grouping by skill level.
After just two months of training, participants take part in the club’s own Push Championship tournament. All gyms are equipped with shelters: in case of an alarm, children move there with their coaches and continue training — physical exercises, dribbling, and safety rules. The club’s best athletes compete in the All-Ukrainian Youth Basketball League (VYUBL) and also have a chance to join Ukraine’s national teams. Several teams play in the European Youth Basketball League (EYBL) with opportunities to receive sports scholarships abroad.
BASKETBALL DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY — a basketball academy for children. Enrollment starts from the age of 7. The academy’s coach is Oleksandr Lokhmanchuk, who holds a FIBA and Basketball Federation of Ukraine license and has worked with the national team and well-known clubs such as Kyiv-Basket, BC Hoverla, and BC Budivelnyk. Each group consists of 20 players of the same age.
Training sessions take place at the Palace of Sports and at School No. 130 named after Dante Alighieri.
This location features amateur basketball courts with professional training parquet flooring. You can rent a court for the required number of hours or sign up for basketball training. Sessions are held in age-based groups. There are classes for both children and adults. Children are trained starting from the age of 3.
The “5 Element” basketball club accepts children aged 6 to 16 and teaches both basic and professional basketball skills. Training sessions are held in sports halls across the city, and the club’s teams participate in city and national tournaments.
The club has a qualified coaching staff, a structured player development program, and organizes summer camps to develop physical skills and team spirit.
BC “SLEM” is a youth basketball team that has repeatedly been a prize winner of the Kyiv championship, a winner of the Oleksandriya Cup, and a participant in national tournaments. A basketball section operates on the basis of BC “SLEM”. Children aged 9 to 14 are accepted into the beginner group, and those aged 15 to 16 into the training group. There is also a sports group for athletes aged 17–18. Selection is required to join the sports group. Training sessions are held in general education schools in Kyiv.
Children’s Basketball Club “Vedmedi” is a public basketball club founded in 2005 by two-time NBA champion Stanislav Medvedenko. The club operates a basketball school with a professional coaching staff, modern training methods, and equipment, and organizes day and summer camps. The club’s teams participate in VYUBL and EYBL leagues. Enrollment is open year-round for children aged 6–17 in beginner and advanced groups.
It is a basketball community that активно develops youth sports in the capital, has over 1,000 graduates, and currently brings together more than 100 children of different ages and skill levels.
The training process is based on professional preparation with a focus on the LTAD methodology and an individual approach to each player. The club provides conditions for athlete development from beginner level to support in a professional career.
Training sessions are held in the areas of Livoberezhna, Mykilska Slobidka, and Berezniaky.
BC “Bulldogs” includes several teams of different levels that compete in Ukrainian and international tournaments. A sports school for children operates on the club’s basis. The school accepts students aged 5 to 17. Training sessions are held three times a week.
The 5T.E.A.M basketball school accepts children aged 7 to 14. Training sessions follow the “A to PRO” program and are based on the principles of Responsibility, Attitude, Effort, Trust, and Pride. Children develop team spirit, physical fitness, and game skills under the guidance of professional coaches. The first session is free!
The “Predators” basketball club teaches children from 8 years old the fundamentals and mastery of basketball. Training sessions are held in several sports halls across the city, and the club’s teams participate in city, national, and international tournaments.
“Kyiv-Basket” is one of the top Ukrainian basketball clubs, a multiple winner of the Higher League and Super League. A children’s basketball academy operates on the club’s basis, accepting children from the age of 5. The Kyiv-Basket Academy opens basketball sections in general education schools. Master classes for younger students are conducted by the best Kyiv-Basket players. Academy sections operate in secondary schools in the Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi districts.
The “Playmaker” basketball school accepts children aged 7 to 15. The school regularly organizes tournaments, social initiatives, and promotes sports and a healthy lifestyle. Classes are held in two Kyiv schools: Secondary School No. 109 and Secondary School No. 90.
