Ukrainian Sports Tourism Championship – Nordic Walking

On October 10, Irpin will host the Ukrainian Sports Tourism Championship – Nordic Walking. This is already the 4th official one!

On October 21, 2021, Nordic walking was officially recognized as a sport in Ukraine. Since then, it has been overseen by the Commission under the Sports Tourism Federation of Ukraine (FSTU), headed by Ihor Yefimenko.

The most important thing to know is that an official sports category in sports tourism – Nordic walking can only be obtained at competitions included in the FSTU calendar plan. Not at a festival or a mass start—even if there are thousands of participants.

October 10 is precisely such an official start. It is organized by the FSTU jointly with the Ukrainian Nordic Walking Federation (UNWF). Distances are 2.5 / 5 / 21 km—everyone chooses what suits them best. Featuring judges, an official protocol, and a real chance to meet the qualifying standard.
