About me

Volodymyr Pilat started his work on the formation of the Battle of Hopak in 1985 in Lviv. The period of study and study of the martial culture of the Ukrainian people, as well as the creation of adapted to the modern requirements of martial arts, took place from 1985 to 1987 in the teacher-created Experimental School of Gopak. In 1990 Pilate V.S. created the Folklore Sports Association “Galich Sich” whose task was to unite the culture of the Ukrainian people and its knightly heritage. In the Statute of the FSA "Halytska Sich" it was stated that this NGO is engaged in the study, teaching and dissemination of the martial arts of the Ukrainian people and its knightly arts: "Fighting Hopak", "Cross", "Arkan", "Butterfly", "Navshpynki" "," Cross ", the fight" On the Belts ", Sherm: by shul, sticks, sticks, knives, braids, sickles, chives, twins and stones. As well as the fight with “handy means”. To this were added: prayer, study of songs, Ukrainian dances, ceremonies, customs and traditions of the Ukrainian people.
   In 1991, Volodymyr Pilat published the first book on the Battle of Hopak, called "Traditions of Ukrainian National Physical Culture." In order to give this book the significance, I took into consideration the co-authors of the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences E. Prystupa.
   In 1997, Volodymyr Pilat established the Central School of Combat Gopak, which is still active today. In 2001, he established the International Federation of Combat Gopak. During the development of Fighting Gopak, he wrote 17 books, made 3 films, hundreds of TV shows, thousands of articles in various newspapers and magazines. He has created 17 federations in Ukraine and has also developed units of the Battle of Hopak in Poland, Italy, Portugal, England, Canada, America.
