In 2004, the Dragon Boating Federation (hereinafter referred to as the Dragon FUCH) was established and registered on October 4, 2004, as an all-Ukrainian public organization of physical and cultural orientation that unites citizens of Ukraine on the basis of common interests.
In the same year, the FUHF "Dragon" was admitted to the International Federation - IDBF (International dragon boat federation, 01.01.1997), President - Mr Mike Thomas (IDBF), Headquarters - London, England (IDBF), (http: //www.idbf.org/en), which has 74 countries.
From 2004 to 2013, the president of the FUCH "Dragon" was Bakanichev AV.
In 2013, a reporting and election conference took place, where Morgun Valeriy Pavlovich was elected President of the OHCHR "Dragon".
The main purpose of the FUHF "Dragon" is to satisfy and protect the legitimate, social, sports and other common interests of its members and to promote the development of rowing on "Dragon" boats in Ukraine.
Dragon Boat Federation of Ukraine develops Dragon Boat as a sport by: enhancing the role of Dragon Boating in Ukraine; improvement of the training system for highly qualified athletes, coaches, judges; ensuring successful performances of Ukrainian athletes at Ukrainian and international sports competitions; popularization of rowing on the Dragon boat among the population; support and encouragement of experts (judges, coaches, athletes, amateurs) and supporters of rowing on the Dragon boat; organization of training of sportsmen on rowing on the boat "Dragon".
Also the FUCH "Dragon" organizes festivals, competitions, sports competitions and training camps, exhibitions, seminars, programs and other events, the subject of which is related to rowing on the boat "Dragon", traditionally conducts all-Ukrainian competitions and provides participation in international competitions, assists in conducting regional competitions and festivals. The first Ukrainian dragonboat competitions were held in May 2005. Thus, in 2013, 7 national competitions were organized and held, in 2014 - 9, in 2015 - 8, in 2016 - 8.
FUHF "Dragon", organizes the participation of Ukrainian crews in international competitions in rowing on the boat "Dragon". Ukrainian athletes, as part of national teams and club teams, have repeatedly won and won European Championships and World Championships.
In 2013, at the IDBF World Championships in Szeged, Hungary, Ukrainian rowers at the Dragons received 4 gold and 1 silver.
2014 - Athletes from 15 countries participated in the ICF World Championships in Poznan, Poland. In total, in different classes and categories, Ukrainian crews were lifted 14 times on the pedestal of honor - our athletes received 6 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze sets of awards and the third command place.
At the EDBF European Championships in Racice, Czech Republic, the Ukrainian team won the 2nd overall team place. Ukrainian rowers received 11 gold, 1 silver and 8 bronze medal sets.
In 2015 at the European Championships (ICF) (juniors, juniors A, juniors B, adults), rank II in Aurontzo di Cadore, Italy (02-05.07.2015) the Ukrainian team took 3rd place and rose 13 times on the pedestal of honor (6 gold, 6 silver, 1 bronze medal).
The National Dragon Boat Team of Ukraine took part in the European Dragon Boat Championships (juniors, juniors, adults), held on July 27-31, 2016 in Rome, Italy. Ukrainian rowers of the national team of Ukraine on dragon rowing on the results of competitions in all disciplines and in all classes, at the European Championship on rowing on the boat "Dragon" among juniors, boys and adults 20 times climbed on the podium of honor and took 1st place among 17 countries participating in the competition and won the Nations Cup for the first time ever in the existence of Dragon Boating in Ukraine.
